When she graduated in 1992 Amanda Bossard began her research in marine biology at Anchorage in Alaska at the University of Alaska Pacific. Bossard got her start in the industry of commercial seafood in 1999. In that year, she worked in Murat Aritan's 65-foot halibut boat. It was later converted into a fish tender. Bossard got married to Aritan in 1999 and the pair have come together to fight for their business. They believe in conservative, sustainable management of renewable seafood resources.
